Transparency-enrolled ASINs cannot ship without a valid unit-level code — and that includes the orders you fulfill yourself. 4fillment prints the shipping label, the Transparency codes and the packing slip on one custom die-cut sheet, applies the codes at pack-out and ships the same day.
Amazon Transparency is the brand-level serialization program run through Brand Registry: every unit of an enrolled ASIN carries a unique code that the customer can scan with the Transparency app. Amazon's rule is explicit — enrolled products cannot be listed or shipped without valid codes, whether fulfilled by Amazon or shipped directly by the selling partner. If you ship FBM or Seller Fulfilled Prime, the code has to be on the unit before the box closes.
Codes are generated by the brand in the Transparency portal (or drawn from your own serials through interoperability) and are never reused. A 22-unit order needs 22 codes.
Amazon's placement rules: on the outside of the product packaging, on the same panel as the GTIN, flat, at least 1/4 in from the barcode and inside a 4 × 4 in area.
FBA units get coded before inbound. FBM and SFP units get coded at the moment they are packed — by you, or by the 3PL that packs for you.
Seller Fulfilled Prime expects same-day handling. Coding cannot become a second workflow that delays the order past cut-off.
Most warehouses handle Transparency with a second printer and a second process: codes printed in batches, matched to orders by hand, applied before or after packing. 4fillment designed a custom die-cut sheet so everything an order needs prints together, with the same order number on every part.
Sample print of a 12-unit Amazon order on the one-sheet. Customer data is fictitious and the codes are illustrative; real sheets carry the order's live Transparency codes.
The Transparency step is folded into the normal pick-pack-ship flow instead of sitting beside it.
The order arrives from Seller Central through our Amazon integration with its ASINs and unit quantities.
One unused code per unit is allocated from your Transparency code pool — or from your own interoperable serials.
Carrier label, unit codes and packing slip print together, each part stamped with the order number.
Each code goes on the unit's exterior packaging next to the GTIN, per Amazon's placement rules. Slip in the box, label on the box.
Orders placed before cut-off leave the same business day from the closest of our four hubs; tracking uploads to Seller Central.
Returned units are inspected against their codes before they are restocked, so a code never ships twice.
Brands that already print a unique serial on every unit can enroll those codes instead of adding a Transparency label — Amazon quotes as little as two weeks. The serials have to meet these rules; we check them with you before enrollment and apply them the same way at pack-out.
Yes. Amazon states that products enrolled in Transparency cannot be listed or shipped without valid codes, whether they are fulfilled by Amazon or shipped directly by the selling partner. For FBA the code is applied before inbound; for FBM and Seller Fulfilled Prime the seller or its 3PL must apply a valid, unique code to every unit before the order ships.
The brand does, through its Transparency account (Brand Registry with a registered trademark is required). Codes are unique per unit and are never reused. Brands that already serialize their units can enroll their existing Code 128, Code 39, Data Matrix or QR serials through Transparency interoperability instead of adding a second label. 4fillment applies whichever codes the brand provides.
Yes. 4fillment prints the order's Transparency codes together with the carrier label and the packing slip on a single die-cut sheet, applies one code to each unit's exterior packaging at pack-out, and ships the order the same business day.
Each sheet carries the 4 × 6 in shipping label, twelve peel-off Transparency code labels and a tear-off packing slip. Orders with more than twelve units continue on additional sheets, so a 22-unit order prints as two pages of the same job.
That is the point of the design. Because the label, the codes and the slip come out of one print job with the order number on every part, there is no second printer, no relabeling and no code hunting at the pack station. Orders placed before cut-off ship the same day from the closest of our four hubs.
If your serials meet Amazon's interoperability rules (Code 128/39, Data Matrix or QR; 7–20 characters; printed next to the GTIN on the same panel, at least 1/4 inch apart and within a 4 × 4 in area; at least three random characters; globally unique per GTIN) the brand can enroll them in as little as two weeks. 4fillment applies and verifies them the same way.
